Alumni Weekend – Celebrating the Class of 1968

We are delighted to invite you back to campus to attend the Golden Fifties Club reunion and help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Class of 1968 and its induction into the Golden Fifties Club!

The Golden Fifties Club celebrates the rich history of The University of Alabama and provides meaningful experiences for alumni and former students who have reached the 50th anniversary of their graduation. Each year, we welcome a new group into the Golden Fifties Club during our reunion weekend and invite all Golden Fifties Club members to participate and welcome our new inductees.

Friday, April 20, 2018

• Campus Tour: The Alabama Alumni Association has arranged for the campus transportation system, Crimson Ride, to take members on a tour of campus led by the Capstone Men and Women. The tour will depart The Hotel Capstone at 3:00 pm.
• Golden Fifties Club Induction Ceremony Dinner at NorthRiver Yacht Club: Cocktails will begin at 6 pm, followed by dinner at 7 pm.  Following dinner, the class will be inducted into the Golden Fifties Club.

Saturday, April 21, 2018

• Breakfast of Memories: Reminisce with classmates at the Bryant Conference Center beginning at 8:00 am.
• Alumni Awards Luncheon: The 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award and 2018 Alumni Student Award, and Outstanding Senior Award recipients will be recognized at 11:00 a.m. in the Sellers Auditorium of Bryant Conference Center.
• A-Day Game: The Alabama Alumni Association has reserved a section in the stadium for Golden Fifties Club members and their guests. Cheer on the Crimson Tide at 1 p.m. in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Homecoming 2017 “Sweet Home Capstone”

The National Alumni Association of The University of Alabama invites all alumni and friends to celebrate Homecoming 2017 “Sweet Home Capstone” with us, Saturday October 14, 2017 as Alabama takes on the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Homecoming parade will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 14. The 2017 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal is John Parker Wilson. John Parker Wilson was a three-year starter for Alabama as a quarterback from 2006-09. During his sophomore season, he threw for over 200 yards in the first seven games of the season, setting a new school record, and finished with a school record nine 200-yard games. In his senior season, Wilson led the Crimson Tide to a 12–2 season. In the regular season finale, he led Alabama to 36–0 victory over in-state rival Auburn, ending a six-game losing streak to the Tigers. When his career at Alabama ended, Wilson held every significant passing record in Alabama school history and still holds the record for completions in a single-season. He was signed as a free agent in 2009 and spent four years in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars and Pittsburgh Steelers. He currently lives in Birmingham with his wife, Tyler and their son and is a financial adviser.

The Association will host Tailgating with the Tide brought to you by Westgate Luxury Condominiums under the Big Top on the southwest corner of the Quad. Tailgate admission includes a game day BBQ buffet, Quad stage entertainment and parade viewing, ‘Bama swag, and more! Lunch will be served at the Tailgate from 12-3 p.m., and the tailgate will remain open until 5:15 p.m.

Many of the academic colleges are hosting events for alumni at Homecoming.

Nursing: Tailgate at the Capstone College of Nursing (650 University Blvd. East) two and a half hours prior to kickoff.

Honors College: Tailgate on the Quad three hours prior to kickoff at site B4

Engineering:  Tailgate on the Quad in tents D2 & D3 three hours prior to kickoff.

Arts & Sciences: Tailgate on the Quad next to Denny Chimes across from Rose with tables/booths for various A&S departments

Communication:  Tailgate at Reese Phifer by invitation only to members of the C&IS Capstone Communication Society.

Education: Homecoming parade breakfast and a tailgate BBQ outside of Graves Hall on the lawn. Alumni Awards Reception in the Graves Hall Courtyard on October 13^th.

HES: Coffee in the Alumni Room of Doster Hall on Saturday morning, October 14^th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Attendees are cordially invited to view the parade from the Doster front porch.

Law: Annual alumni tailgate from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Camille Wright Cook Plaza.

2017 Tailgating With the Tide

The University of Alabama National Alumni Association’s Tailgating With the Tide brought to you by Westgate Luxury Condominiums  will be at Alabama’s season opener in Atlanta against Florida State, Alabama versus Vanderbilt, and Alabama versus Texas A&M.

All ticket prices include a game day buffet, TVs for viewing other games, shakers and other Alabama swag, and an unbeatable game day experience close to every stadium. All alumni and fans are welcome to attend these events to celebrate with fellow Crimson Tide fans! All Tailgatin’ With the Tide events are from four hours before kickoff until one hour before kickoff.

Tailgating with the Tide at the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game vs. FSU will be at Hudson Grille Downtown (120 Marietta Street NorthWest Atlanta, GA 30303). Tickets are $40 and are available for purchase here.

Our tailgate in Nashville will be at the Vanderbilt Student Life Center (310 25th Avenue South Nashville, TN 37240). Tickets are $50 and are available for purchase here.

The Tailgating with the Tide stop at Texas A&M is at the Texas A&M Student Recreation Center (797 Olsen Boulevard College Station, TX 77840). Tickets are $60 for adults 21+ and includes an open beer/wine bar. Tickets are $40 for those under 21, and both ticket types can be purchased here.

The Tailgating with the Tide program is the official away game tailgate program of The University of Alabama National Alumni Association. We hope to see you on the road to cheer on the Tide!
