The National Alumni Association of The University of Alabama invites all alumni and friends to celebrate Homecoming 2018: Excellence Lights the Crimson Flame with us on Saturday October 13, 2018 as the Alabama Crimson Tide takes on the Mizzou Tigers.

The Association will host Tailgating with the Tide under the Big Top on the southwest corner of the Quad.

Lunch Served from 12:00 – 3:00 P.M.

The tent will stay open until 5:00 P.M.

Your ticket includes: 

  • Game day buffet from Jim ‘n Nick’s
  • Seating under the “Big Top”
  • Entertainment on the Quad stage from the Homecoming Grand Marshal Dr. Cathy Randall and various student organizations
  • Children under 3 are free

Your tailgate ticket does NOT include a ticket to the Alabama vs. Missouri football game.

The parade begins at 1:00pm

The 2018 Grand Marshal is Dr. Cathy Randall.  She is the Chairman of the Board of Pettus Randall Holdings, LLC, and is the former Chairman of the Board of Randall Publishing Company and the former Director of the University Honors Programs at The University of Alabama. She earned two Ph.D. degrees from the University of Alabama and has been named one of the top 31 women graduates of the century.  Immediate Past Chairman of the Alabama Academy of Honor (the 100 most outstanding living Alabamians), Dr. Randall has served as National President of Mortar Board, Inc., president of the Boards of Directors of the American Village and of the Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame, and Director of Alabama Girls State.  In addition to her continued membership on the board of the Alabama Women’s Hall of Fame and the American Village, the David Mathews Center for Civic Life and has served on the boards of the National Collegiate Honors Council, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, and the Alabama Law Foundation as well as the Alabama Governor’s Transition Team and the Governor’s Tornado Recovery Action Council. She is immediate past chairman of the board of Alabama Heritage magazine and, with the President of Tuscaloosa’s City Council, she is chairing Tuscaloosa’s Bicentennial Commission.

She has been honored with Tuscaloosa’s 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award for Women of Distinction, the 2002 E. Roger Sayers Award as the outstanding University of Alabama faculty/staff member, UA’s Living Legend Award in 2007, the Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame in 2012, 2004 Tuscaloosa’s Philanthropist of the Year and Pillar of the Community, one of two Birmingham Outstanding Civic Leaders in 2013, Tuscaloosa’s first Champion of Character in 2014, and the Bryan Lifetime Achievement Award from the North Central Girl Scouts in 2015.

Many of the academic colleges are hosting events for alumni at Homecoming.

Nursing: Join fellow alumni, friends, faculty and staff at Tent 114 on the Quad for a complimentary pregame buffet! Please RSVP to Rosemary Russell with your name and total number of guests.

Honors College: The Honors College will host a reception in Nott Hall 3 hours prior to kickoff.

Engineering:  Homecoming tent on the quad (D1 & D2) three hours prior to kickoff for our alumni. Info can be found here: https://eng.ua.edu/alumni/football/

Arts & Sciences: Homecoming tent on the quad with swag and other fun activities!

Education: Alumni Awards and Reception on October 12th at 4:30pm at Graves Hall Courtyard. Homecoming Tailgate BBQ 3 hours before kickoff under the tent at Graves Hall on October 13th.

HES: Coffee in Doster Hall on Saturday morning, October 13th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Attendees are cordially invited to view the parade from the Doster front porch.

Law: Join us on the School of Law Front Lawn to celebrate Homecoming. The Annual Homecoming Pre-game Reception is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and last until 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13. Event time may change based kickoff time.
