UA BAA’s Signature Homecoming Event: Houndstooth and Heels 2017
Hundreds of alumni returned to the Capstone on October 13th, 2017, for the 2nd annual “Houndstooth and Heels” Homecoming event. Once again, the event reconnected alumni as they enjoyed the sounds of Sherri B and Precision Grooves at the Tuscaloosa River Market followed by an after party at The District Room. The biggest reward of the night was revealing the final result of the “Greek Giving Challenge” fundraising campaign that raised $16,000 in support of the AAAN Endowed Scholarship Fund.  The weekend culminated with tailgating on the quad and cheering on our beloved Crimson Tide to a victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks.

Iron Bowl Community Service Project: Auburn and Alabama Alumni Support Children’s Village of Birmingham
The day before the epic clash, members of The University of Alabama Black Alumni Association and The Black Alumni of the War Eagle Society waged a friendly competition to raise funds and collect supplies for Children’s Village of Birmingham. The groups met at the UAB Mini Park at 1401 University Boulevard to receive donations of supplies and also raised funds through an online giving campaign that was supported by hundreds of members from both alumni organizations from around the country.

The Children’s Village of Birmingham, located in southwest Birmingham, has a unique mission of serving foster kids ages 6 to 17. It is one of the few organizations in the area that keep siblings together. This was an opportunity for us to give back and give hope.  We are looking forward to continuing our support of this worthy organization.”.”

UA Black Alumni SEC Party
On Friday December 2nd, 2016 in Atlanta, GA the UA BAA hosted Alumni at Suite Food Lounge for fans traveling to cheer on the Tide to their victory in the SEC Championship game.  It was good time for all to mix, mingle, and reconnect with friends, fans, and fellow alumni.
