South Talladega County Chapter

About

Welcome to the online home of the South Talladega County Chapter of The University of Alabama National Alumni Association. Membership is open to all alumni, friends, and fans living in Talladega County and surrounding counties that do not have a local chapter.

Our Executive Committee works diligently throughout the year to plan and present many opportunities for Chapter members to interact and enjoy events such as the annual Spring Scholarship Banquet, football game-watching party, Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program (A$AP) event for high school students and parents interested in our great university, campus visits for gymnastics meets, basketball games, baseball games, etc.

Through our three endowed scholarships, our South Talladega County Chapter has awarded over $50,000 annually in scholarships for the past several years to local students who will be entering the University.

At this time our chapter does not collect chapter dues. Instead, we encourage all to join the National Alumni Association as a Single Donor for $50 or a Joint Donor for $75 (https://alumni.ua.edu/membership/). Your national dues do help support our local chapter. Also, we encourage you to “Ride with the Tide” by purchasing your UA collegiate license tag and give deserving young people the opportunity to realize the dream of higher education (https://alumni.ua.edu/ride-with-the-tide/). Proceeds from the sale of University of Alabama license tags fund scholarship programs at UA. We hope you will join our Chapter and will encourage your friends, family, and co-workers to also become a part of this dynamic group that enjoys celebrating UA’s rich tradition of excellence in all that we do. We also invite you to download the UA Alumni “App” on your phone to keep up with the latest news and offers from the UA National Alumni Association. Yes, your involvement matters!

We also strongly recommend joining our Facebook group – South Talladega University of Alabama (UA) Alumni and Friends – as events and news are regularly updated.

Roll Tide Roll!!!

Scholarship Information

Scholarship assistance to local students remains the foundation of the South Talladega County Chapter’s commitment of service to The University of Alabama.
The Harry I. Brown, Sr. and Margaret W. Brown Endowed Scholarship has provided over $800,000 in scholarships over the past 25 plus years.
The Leonard Lee and Rebecca Erline Black Evans Endowed Scholarship has provided over $5,000 in scholarships since it reached endowed status in 2014. For details on this scholarship please use this link – South Talladega County Chapter OM Scholarship.
The Steven T. Marlowe Endowed Scholarship, endowed in 2023, is given to currently enrolled undergraduate students who are participating in recreational sports as an Intramural Official and registered with the Alabama High School Athletic Association as an official.
Another main objective is to assist in the recruitment of future students who are Bama bound. We are only able to reach these goals through the continuous support of our chapter members, the local alumni, and friends of The University of Alabama. If you would like to create a UA scholarship through the South Talladega County Chapter, please contact Henry Nunnelley.
