It is a great time to be an Alabama fan. We now have our 14th national football championship. We also have five new USA Today Academic All-Americans, making our six-year total 36, tops over all other colleges and universities. Covington County students are doing great. We are well represented on campus in various ways to include 2012 Capstone Men and Women Vice President, member of the 2011 National Championship Football team, current and past individual college Ambassadors, past Justice on the UA Academic Honor Council, past UA Cheerleader and Million Dollar Band members, and President’s List and Dean’s List just to name a few. Our chapter has four endowed scholarships from which we make annual awards to local freshman students who are Bama bound and one transfer student that is Bama bound. If you are a proud supporter of the University of Alabama, join us for fellowship, to assist in the mission, and to spread these words as often and as loudly as possible: ROLL TIDE! The Covington County Chapter will host the 15th Annual Alabama Scholarship Golf Tournament on during the spring of 2012, at the Andalusia Country Club. As you know, the proceeds from this tournament go to our five local scholarship funds for deserving students planning to attend the University of Alabama. Each year the University of Alabama matches our proceeds at more than 50%, thus if our total proceeds to scholarships from the Golf Tournament were $2,000; the University of Alabama would match our funds at approximately $1,000 giving us a total of $3,000 to add to our endowed scholarships. If you are a friend, fan, or alumnus of the University of Alabama, please join us. Graduating from The University of Alabama is not a requirement for membership.
The annual membership fee is $25 for an individual or $40 for a family. Download the Membership Form and mail it with your check. Your membership fee helps support ETUA’s mission of sending students from this area to the University of Alabama as well as chapter activities. As a member, you can play an active role in the chapter, attend events, and have opportunities for game tickets and other benefits.
