Joyce Jekayinoluwa

Joyce Jekayinoluwa is a doctoral student in global gender and sexuality studies at the University at Buffalo, where she researches sexual violence prevention and institutional accountability in higher education in the United States and Nigeria. Her work bridges scholarship and grassroots advocacy, centering survivor voices, particularly Black and African women. 

Jekayinoluwa has been recognized for academic excellence and service with honors including the Barbara Grimes Selfless Service Award at The University of Alabama and the University at Buffalo Graduate School Fellowship, a five-year award recognizing scholarly promise and leadership. She is also a recipient of the Olga Lindberg Scholarship from the American Association of University Women. 

Her global leadership includes service as a UNA-USA delegate to the Commission on the Status of Women and participation in the UN Action Weekend and UNA-USA Leadership Summit. She is a co-founder of BBRIDGE, an initiative advancing community-driven responses to gender-based violence. A two-time master’s graduate in women’s studies and English, she shapes inclusive policy and academic environments that uplift survivors and promote long-term systemic change.
