The University of Alabama National Alumni Association

Alumni Scholarship Program

Through its scholarship program, the Alumni Association recognizes high school seniors and two year community college transfer students for their academic and leadership achievements, recognizes current undergraduates, and supports graduate education at the University.

The University of Alabama uses two distinctly different scholarship applications - 1. the UA Application for Scholarships targets entering freshmen and transfer students; and, 2. the UA Scholarship Application for Continuing Full-Time Undergraduates is used by students already enrolled at the University.

The scholarship application for entering freshmen and transfer students is a consolidated electronic application used campus-wide by all departments including the Alumni Scholarship Program and its alumni chapter network. The information submitted is centrally processed by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions/Scholarships. A centralized campus-wide process eliminates the need for separate applications. A complete application is defined as submitting the UA On-line Application for Admission at apply.ua.edu, an official high school transcript, ACT and/or SAT scores reported to UA by the testing agency, and an admission fee.

High School Seniors: For entering freshmen the scholarship application process begins the fall semester of the high school senior year. December 1, 2009, is the priority date for high school seniors to submit the UA Application for Admission, and the UA Application for Scholarships via the myBama.ua.edu portal, along with all required supporting documentation in order to receive consideration for scholarship review.

Transfer Students: The priority date for transfer students to submit the UA Application for Admission, the UA Application for Scholarships, and all required supporting documentation required to receive scholarship consideration is March 1, 2010.

Current Full-time Undergraduate Students: The priority date for current full-time undergraduate students to submit the UA Scholarship Application for Continuing Full-time Undergraduate Students is December 1, 2009. The application is available on-line at scholarships.ua.edu. Students should be aware there is not a central processing office and the application cannot be submitted on-line. Students should print the application and submit a copy to the appropriate departments.
