Alumni Events/Awards

The special events of the National Alumni Association celebrate and promote the University by uniting and honoring alumni, students, and faculty. They are diverse and serve to perpetuate old traditions important to the University community.

Homecoming - Every year we celebrate Homecoming at the Capstone with a pep rally and bonfire on Friday evening before the fooball game. Saturday, the day of the game, the Alumni office sponsors Homecoming on the Quad with tent displays representing colleges and schools of the University and featuring entertainment three hours prior to kickoff.

Alumni Weekend - Centered around the A-Day football scrimmage annually, Alumni Weekend is an opportunity to recognize officers, honor award winners, and salute reunion groups of the Golden Fifties Club.

Reunions - The Golden Fifties Club, a group of Alabama alumni who celebrate more than 50 years since graduating from the University, unite each year to honor the class celebrating its 50-year reunion. Other reunions can be arranged when interest is expressed.

Distinguished Alumni Awards recognize and honor an alumnus and/or alumna for loyalty to the University, professional achievement, service to the community, and character.

Alumni Student Awards recognize students who have consistently demonstrated exceptional achievement and personal character and whose contributions to the University exemplify the spirit of the UA tradition.

Outstanding Commitment to Teaching Awards recognize and honor University faculty for their contributions to teaching.

The Paul W. Bryant Alumni-Athlete Awards recognize University of Alabama athletes who have made exceptional contributions since graduating.
