Unveiled in July 2003, the DISCOVERING BAMA campus visit program is a uniquely personalized experience available to high-school students and their parents interested in knowing more about The University of Alabama. Only active members of the National Alumni Association can recommend participants. The program provides prospective students with a comprehensive, personalized visit to the UA campus. The visits start in Alumni Hall, where students and parents meet Alumni Office staff who will serve as contacts while they are on campus. The DISCOVERING BAMA campus visit program serves to complement the Undergraduate Admissions events already offered to interested high-school students.
| A major distinction of Discovering BAMA is that it is a highly personalized campus experience. In order to adequately provide the personal attention that this program is designed for, there is a limit of eight student visitors per day. How to participate in DISCOVERING BAMA: 1. To begin the process, an active NAA member calls Alumni Hall at (205) 348-5963 and recommends a student who is interested in a personalized campus visit. 2. A registration form is completed by alumni office staff for the student and parents, indicating their preferred visitation date and detailing specific interests. 3. In the next few days, an itinerary is developed and finalized. Depending on the student's interests, it may include visits with Residential Life staff, visits with faculty, a campus tour, and information on scholarships, greek life, etc. 4. On visiting day, the itinerary will begin at Alumni Hall, followed by a coordinated day of activities. Lunch will be provided.
